Belmullet, County Mayo, Ireland
Carne Golf Club lies in the splendid sand dunes overlooking Black Sod Bay. Near the legendary Inis Geidhe and Inis Gluaire Islands and dramatic Achill. Carne was the last golf links course to be designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett. It is now believed by many who have played there to be his greatest challenge and achievement. With little disturbance to the natural and unspoilt environment that surrounds it, a wonderful test of golf was designed on a links that is gaining in reputation. Golf World voted Carne in Ireland’s top five links in January 2000.
