Royal County Down

Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland

Royal County Down Championship Course consistently rates among the world’s top ten courses. The course is lays beneath the imperious gaze of the Mountains of Mourne. As well as being one of the world’s most picturesque courses, Royal County Down is also one of the most challenging. This is because of vast swathes of heather and gorse-lined fairways that tumble beneath vast sand hills. Wild tussock-covered bunkers defend small subtly contoured greens. It is a spectacle to look at and even more thrilling to play.
