Donabate, County Dublin, Ireland
We have included a round of golf on this amazing Links course in our 148th Open ‘Gold’ Package. Have a read below to see why.
For a long time the only way to get to The Island Links was by boat before a causeway road was built. The result is not surprisingly a course with a raw links feel with many elevation changes. The natural defenses here mean there is little requirement for bunkers or other man-made hazards. The course is gaining deservedly in reputation and was the venue for the 1999 PGA Championship of Ireland and is a regional qualifying venue for The Open Championship. If you are in the Dublin area, this course should be on your list.
